about
An un-released song from my old band, Stereobus, featuring Dave Giambusson on vocals. This is a song about a very special place in Brooklyn. While waiting for the 67 Bus one day after band rehearsal, I made up the first line of this song. Dave went home and wrote the rest of the song, then snuck into my room while I was at work one day and recorded this vocal pass and the main acoustic guitar. He also stole my cigarettes and the rest of my bottle of something cheap but strong. (Sidenote: I don't smoke anymore. Smoking is stupid and it kills you. Quit smoking now, fool.) I came home from work, found a note from Dave, opened the Pro Tools session, then overdubbed a bunch of stuff, including some truly soul-piercing work on the violin I'd received for Xmas four years earlier. This is a song about hope, and a song about mercy in an age of prosperity.
As always, Stereobus would like to thank Human Reason.
